GRAMMY Award-winning superstar and Country Music Hall of Fame member Kenny Rogers has enjoyed great success during his storied career of nearly six decades, which will be celebrated during Rogers’ final world tour: The Gambler’s Last Deal.
The enduring country and pop superstar has endeared music lovers around the globe with his amazing songs, heartfelt performances, distinctive voice, gift for storytelling and universal appeal. The first country artist to consistently sell out arenas, Rogers has played to millions of fans around the world, performing songs from his catalog of 24 Number One hits including “The Gambler,” “Lucille,” “Coward of the County,” “Lady”, “Islands in the Stream,” “She Believes In Me,” “We’ve Got Tonight,” “Daytime Friends,” “Through The Years,” “You Decorated My Life,” and “Buy Me A Rose”. His hits with his band, the First Edition, include “Ruby, Don’t Take Your Love To Town”, “Just Dropped In (To See What Condition Was In)”, and “Something’s Burning”.
Incredibly, Rogers has charted a record within each of the last seven decades. He has sold more than 120 million albums worldwide, making him one of the Top Ten Best Selling Male Solo Artists of All Time, according to the RIAA. Rogers has won many awards for his music and charity work, including three GRAMMY Awards, 19 American Music Awards, 11 People’s Choice Awards, eight Academy of Country Music Awards and six Country Music Association Awards, including the CMA Lifetime Achievement Award in 2013. Rogers was inducted into the Country Music Hall of Fame in 2013. In 2015, Rogers was awarded the CMT Artist of a Lifetime Award, and in 2016, he was the recipient of the Tony Martell Lifetime Entertainment Achievement Award given by the TJ Martell Foundation.
Joining Kenny Rogers for his farewell concert is Texas Country Hall of Fame member, Linda Davis. Labelled a ‘song stylist’, Davis’ unique ability to interpret a song has made her one of Nashville’s favorite vocalists. As her talents began to catch the attention of label executives, she landed her first record deal with CBS/ Epic Records and quickly gained a legion of friends and fans in the music industry. Her duet with superstar Reba McEntire, “Does He Love You” went on to become a #1 hit and earn both artists several awards including a Grammy for Best Country Vocal Collaboration. Through the years, Davis has played to sold-out crowds with the likes of Garth Brooks, George Strait, Reba McEntire and Kenny Rogers just to name a few. Currently, Linda maintains a busy schedule performing for audiences, songwriting and coaching aspiring singers through her Stage Performance 101 business.
So come 6th August, don’t miss Kenny Roger’s one night only performance in Singapore, starring special guest Linda Davis, at The Star Theatre, The Star Performing Arts Centre.
