K. S. Chithra or Chithra, is an Indian playback singer and Carnatic musician. In a career spanning over four decades, she has recorded over 25,000 songs. She is regarded as a cultural icon of South Indian states. and is fondly called as the Melody Queen of Indian Cinema and Nightingale of South India. She was awarded India’s third highest civilian honour Padma Bhushan in 2021 and Padma Shri in 2005 for her valuable contributions towards the Indian musical fraternity. Chithra is the first Indian woman who was honoured by the House of Commons, British Parliament, United Kingdom in 2005 and is the only singer from India who was honoured by the Government of China at the Qinghai International Music and Water Festival in 2009.
Srinivas’s first foray into playback singing began with the song Sorgam Enbathu Namakku from the movie Nammavar, composed by Mahesh. It went on to become a runaway hit. But it was only in 1996, that he gained recognition with the song Manna Madurai from A. R. Rahman’s Minsaara Kanavu. Then came En Uyire in Mani Ratnam’s Uyire (the Tamil version of Dil Se). This A.R. Rahman’s song catapulted Srinivas to fame.
Anuradha Sriram is an Indian Carnatic and playback singer who hails from the South Indian state of Tamil Nadu. She has sung in many Tamil and Hindi films. Anuradha’s cine career was triggered by her proficiency in the different raagas in Carnatic music and her distinguished educational background in music. She had her debut in movies through Sri A R Rahman in Minsara Kanavu. Anuradha specialises in Carnatic music and has sung in over 1000 concerts worldwide. She is keenly interested in folk music.
Sathyaprakash is the voice behind the song Aalaporaan Tamizhan (Mersal) and several other chartbuster Tamil hit songs like Raasali (Achcham Enbadhu Madamaiyada), Nallai Allai (Kaatru Veliyidai), Ammadi Un Azhagu (Vellakaara Durai) and so on. He is based in Chennai – performing classical/fusion concerts. Sathyaprakash is now competitively proving his skills in other languages including telugu and kannada movie albums.
